Neutron Academy is an IT Training and tutoring service in the East End of Toronto which aims to transform our students’ relationship with math and IT by increasing their confidence with numbers and Technology. We believe that when pulps learn to enjoy math and IT, great results follow. With our services, pulps can learn within comfortable safe environment. With over 15 years of IT Industry experience and over 5 years of work experience in the Toronto District School Board, we have an in-depth understanding of the experiences and challenges in the public and private school systems. We utilize this robust knowledge to develop an individualized approach for your child and you so that can excel the current grade level and beyond.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

We believe that everyone has the potential to do well in math or Information Technology and it is our soul mission to unlock that potential. We believe that when pupils learn to recognize the ways in which numbers are embedded in our daily lives, a new relationship with math or Information Technology can emerge. We mobilize play-based learning to teach concepts, which removes the intimidation factor that so often acts as a barrier to success for pupils, while ensuring the skills learned will yield results on assessments. We believe that by focusing on fundamental building blocks, we will give each pupil the necessary confidence to approach math or Information Technology in a productive and enjoyable way.

OUR MATH APPROACH

Our approach to teaching math is simple: we meet each pupil at their current skill level and then we work to fill in the gaps with the goal of building a solid foundation in fundamental core competencies in the Ontario Mathematics Curriculum. With a strong base in all the fundamentals, this sets up the Information Technology for success in their current grade level and helps them transition smoothly into the next. By working with the child’s strengths, we build confidence and foster an encouraging mind frame for working on individual skill gaps. By identifying their skill gaps, we address the weakest links in their foundational understanding. This is a foolproof approach to making math easy to learn.
